The global sensation BLACKPINK released their first full album since their debut on 2nd October. The album broke multiple records. The title track was released with a music video that got into a controversy after the Health and Medical Workers’ Union of Korea criticised YG Entertainment for Jennie’s nurse outfit. YG has now confirmed that they will remove the scene.
After the controversy, YG had declared they were deliberating on an action. They now have confirmed that the scene which shows Jennie in a nurse’s outfit will be edited out. YG had also issued a statement. Koreaboo had quoted the statement saying, “We have decided to delete all scenes that show the nurse uniform in the music video and will be replacing the music video with the edited version ASAP.” The team then took full responsibility for the mishap saying “We spent a long time preparing for this music video and we didn’t expect a controversy such as this to happen as we did not have any specific intentions. We feel a heavy sense of responsibility about this issue and we apologize to all the nurses that felt uncomfortable because of this.”
