Bengaluru cop stop singer Ed Sheeran from hosting a surprise performance in Church Street

British singer Ed Sheeran surprised his fans in Bengaluru when he began an impromptu performance on Church Street on Sunday morning. Without any prior announcement, the international star started singing on the footpath, quickly drawing a crowd. However, the impromptu concert came to an early end when the Bengaluru Police decided to step in to manage the situation.

The police officer on duty failed to recognize the global icon and instructed him to stop the performance since he had not obtained the necessary permissions. In a video, which is going viral now, one of the officers can be seen unplugging the microphone while the singer was still performing.

The singer was in Bengaluru was his scheduled concert, and his spontaneous street performance was an expected treat fans. Despite the intervention, the singer’s presence on Church street created a significant buzz among the city’s music lovers.

Yesterday, the four-time Grammy Award winner enthralled fans with his performance in Bengaluru, and yet another concert is set to take place today at NICE Grounds.

As a part of his India tour, he is expected to perform in Pune, Shillong, and Delhi NCR.
