On a huge budget and with many audience expectations, Nag Ashwin presents Kalki 2898 AD as the latest sci-fi actioner. The film is worth 600 crore rupees and that is a lot. It combines Indian mythology which is part of our culture as well as a dystopian world still, it has top-notch visuals. By showing the movie goers the other side of life, it has made many people go mute as they cannot believe what they watch.
In Kalki 2898 A.D. Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Saswata Chatterjee are featured. The movie also has few eye candies like Vijay Devarakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, SS Rajamouli, Ram Gopal Varma among others. But the actor who portrays lord Krishna has aroused some interest.
The movie begins with the war at Kurukshetra where Krishna confronts Ashwatthama (Amitabh). Krishna is an integral character in Mahabharata meaning he is highly remembered by fans of the movies. Some of them assumed that Krishna was either Nani or Arjun Das. The face of Lord Krishna has not been shown up to now by its makers causing a lot of confusion among viewers whose members have been left wondering who among them it may be.
It has now been disclosed that the individual who was featured as Krishna in the film, “Kalki 2898 AD” acted within the capacity of Krishnakumar Balasubramanian. Krishnakumar verified that he played the role of Lord Krishna in Kalki 2898 AD.’ Following the actor shared a snap on Instagram stories from the movie screening with caption-“#kalki2898ad An absolute honour to be able to open an epic film, playing such a special character. Grateful (sic).”
An actor and art director, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian predominantly works in Tamil cinema. He was an artistic director of The Little Theatre Group who wrote and directed many plays such as Alice in iLand (2011) and musicals Atita 2010.
In 2020, Krishnakumar appeared in his first Tamil movie since taking a hiatus with Putham Pudhu Kaalai, produced by Amazon Prime. This was followed by his role as Suriya’s sidekick in Soorarai Pottru as fate would have it. In 2022, though, he played a minor character who was a friend of Dhanush’s in Maaran.
