Aditya Dhar’s high-octane action-drama Dhurandhar, led by Ranveer Singh, has set a new benchmark in the OTT space by sealing a massive ₹130 crore digital distribution deal with Netflix for both its chapters. As reported by Bollywood Hungama, the two-part espionage saga has become one of the costliest streaming acquisitions in recent years, at a time when digital rights values have shrunk across the industry.
The agreement essentially values each chapter at roughly ₹65 crore, making it the most lucrative OTT deal of Ranveer Singh’s career so far. The film, featuring an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, has enjoyed substantial commercial success even before its digital premiere.
Box office performance
Released in theatres on December 5, Dhurandhar has registered a strong box office run with an estimated ₹154 crore nett collection across India, as per Sacnilk. Despite entering the weekday phase, the film continued to maintain healthy occupancy, indicating that audience interest remains steady.
Plot and cast
The narrative follows Ajay Sanyal, played by R. Madhavan, the chief of India’s Intelligence Bureau, who designs a covert mission to dismantle a major terror network operating inside Pakistan. Ranveer Singh, along with Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, adds significant weight to the storyline through impactful performances, helping build a tense, layered espionage universe.
Dhurandhar Part 2 already confirmed
The franchise’s second installment, Dhurandhar 2, has already been approved and is scheduled for a theatrical release in March 2026, further expanding the world of the intelligence-action thriller.
