The next film, ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has commenced production. A video of the set appeared on social media mere days after production began. Akruti Singh recently shared a video from the film’s massive Ayodhya set, which was erected in Mumbai, on Instagram Stories.
The video featured multiple views of massive pillars and palace-like structures. Akruti captioned the video “Ramayana Day 1.” However, the video was eventually deleted.

On April 2, it was reported that Nitesh Tiwari performed a pooja on the set before filming with secondary actors. Ranbir, who will play Lord Ram in the film, is slated to begin filming in the coming days.
Even though Nitesh Tiwari hasn’t formally announced the film ‘Ramayana’, it has been making ripples for quite some time. Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Ram in this film, and Sai Pallavi or Jahnvi Kapoor are likely to play Sita. Ranbir’s actress-wife, Alia Bhatt, was in talks for the role of Sita, but she withdrew due to scheduling issues.
Yash, who stars in ‘KGF’, is also likely to play Ravana in the film, with Sunny Deol reportedly cast as Hanuman. Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi are reportedly in talks for the roles of Kumbhakarna and Vibhashana, respectively. Arun Govil, best known for his performance as Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana, will now play King Dashrath. Lara Dutta will also play Kaikeyi in the film.
