Vicky Kaushal made a splendid remark this year by appearing in films such as Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Sam Bahadur. The latter film is directed by Meghna Gulzar and has been highly appreciated by the audience. Despite facing tough competition with Animal, the film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark.
Now, the actor is gearing up for his upcoming film Chhava, which is a period drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. He was the son of the Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Directed by Rahul Janardan Jadhav, the shooting for the film began in October this year. Chhava will be released in the latter half of 2024.
Meanwhile, a similar movie in the Marathi language will grace the cinemas in the coming year. Digpal Lanjekar’s Shivrayancha Chhava has been announced recently, which is based on a similar theme. It is scheduled to be released on the 16th of February, 2024.
However, the name of the main lead of the film hasn’t been disclosed by the makers. A key poster was released, featuring the protagonist. It showcased the strong muscular man, who is about to fight with a tiger.
Shivrayancha Chhava embarks on Digpal Lanjekar’s 8th film in the Marathi cinema. His prior films include Sher Shivraj, Farzand, Pawankhind and Subhedar.
On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhava will feature Rashmika Mandanna alongside him, who will be playing the role of Yesubai Bhonsale. However, only time will tell if Shivrayancha Chhava has any relevance to Vicky’s Chhava.
