Akshay Kumar took his fans by surprise as he appeared for cameo in Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2. Entry of the Hera Pheri actor into the universe of horror-comedy was taken as an indication toward the expansion of this universe in a much bigger and better way, and recently writer Niren Bhatt opened up on the possibility of the stand-alone film for Akshay’s character.

There are speculations that Akshay might turn into a full-fledged antagonist in the next part, Stree 3, but the idea of him having his standalone film was fascinating enough. Maybe this spin-off will be a kind of redemption for Khiladi Kumar too, as his recent movies have failed to perform up to mark.

As a matter of fact, Akshay’s latest movie – Khel Khel Mein – released the same day as Stree 2. However, the multi starrer movie, which also featured Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, and Pragya Jaiswal, did not impress the audience. He will be next seen in Singham 3 by Rohit Shetty, reprising his character Sooryavanshi. The movie’s star cast includes Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, and will witness Arjun Kapoor as antagonist.
