There is a market for Spider-Man in India, and moviegoers there have long looked forward to the Spider-Man escapades. Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse, the latest animated feature featuring the web-slinger, was well publicised and met or exceeded expectations on its first day.
Taran Adarsh shared the opening-day figures of the latest Spider-Man film and shared that the film has earned Rs 4.20 crores. Despite the film was released on Thursday, the film scored more than the expectations. Trade analyst wrote, “#SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse springs a pleasant surprise… Animation film + Thu release, yet #SpiderMan posts a healthy total… Thu ₹ 4.20 cr Nett BOC. 1800+ screens. Note: Has released in 10 languages in #India. #SpiderVerse.”
Pavitr Prabhakar, the Indian Spider-Man, appears in Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse. Shubman Gill, a cricket player, will play Pavitr Prabhakar, the Indian counterpart of Spider-Man, in the Hindi and Punjabi versions of the movie. The follow-up to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, one of the best-selling animated movies of all time, was released in 2018.
In 2005, Pavitr made his debut in a Marvel Comic. The character is a different Spider-Man with an Indian setting that was created by Jeevan J. Kang, Suresh Seetharaman, and Sharad Devarajan. In the dubbed versions, Indian Spider-Man Pavitr Prabhakar is voiced by cricketer Shubhman Gill.
The role will be played by Deadpool star Karan Soni in the English-language version of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Numerous Spider-Men, including Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Miguel O’Hara, are featured in Across the Spider-Verse. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third movie, is due out on March 29, 2024.
