Tamil movie, Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara was released in the year 2020. The movie starred Suriya in the lead role and other actors like Paresh Rawal, Aparna Balamurali, and R. Madhavan. The film was based on the life events of Air Deccan founder Capt. G.R. Gopinath, and was globally acclaimed.
The makers of the movie confirmed the news of the Hindi remake. According to PTI, the makers announced that Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment and 2D Entertainment led by Suriya, Jyothika Sadanah and Rajsekar Pandian will be partnering on the Hindi film.
Anchor-actor Siddharth Kannan tweeted about the film and fuelled the excitement by asking, ‘Who do you think would play @Suriya_offl‘s role in the remake?’ He tweeted, “Globally acclaimed India’s pride #SooraraiPottru to be remade in Hindi with the same director #SudhaKongara Co-Produced By @2D_ENTPVTLTD & @Abundantia_Ent. Actor Suriya said in a statement given to PTI, “The love and appreciation that was showered on ‘Soorarai Pottru’ was unprecedented! From the minute I first heard this story I felt this has to be a pan India film because the soul of it was such. “It gives me immense pleasure to partner with Abundantia Entertainment, who have always made quality content, to tell the inspiring story of Captain Gopinath in Hindi,”
The filmmaker Sudha Kongara said, “I was instantly drawn to the story of ‘Soorarai Pottru’, the story of Captain Gopinath, an adventurous maverick and an inspiring entrepreneur who epitomized the New India of the 90s. I’m grateful for all the love we have received so far and look forward to telling this unique and amazing story in Hindi.”
The casting of the movie is yet to be finalized. Fans are eager to know that who will be cast in the lead role.
