Actress Shraddha Kapoor took it to her Instagram to announce that her film ‘Stree’ is all set to be released in Japan today. Mentioning about it in her story she captioned, “Stree is all set to conquer #Japan, releasing today, beware!” Confirming the same official social handle of Maddock Films too shared the news using the same statement by sharing a poster with the title of the film scripted in Japanese in one side.
Stree- a horror-comedy film was directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Raj and DK which got a wide response on Box-Office in year 2018. The plot revolved around the village of Chanderi where actor Rajkummar Rao was seen playing a character called Vicky, who is a ladies tailor. Having a tagline- ‘Mard Ko Dard Hoga’, the film playfully portrayed the kind of respect women needs to be given. Apart from Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar, cast like Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana were also part of the film adding to its hilarious portions.
On a side note, Stree grosses around 180.76 crores as its Box-Office collection in India proving out to be a major hit with a budget of just 23 crore. It would be interesting to analyze these numbers when the film is releasing in Japan amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
