Actor Shahid Kapoor’s career trajectory has been rife with a lot many highs and lows together. The talented actor has been a part of some great films and has given us unforgettable impeccable performances. With his last film, ‘Kabir Singh’ Shahid is back on the track of success. ‘Kabir Singh’ is a Hindi remake of Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’ from the same director.
Now, there are some talks of Shahid collaborating with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. In 2019, Mehra in an interview with Mumbai Mirror revealed both Shahid and Rakeysh want to work together and they are discussing over a few things till they meet a common point.
And recently, there has been some speculation that Rakeysh wants to cast Shahid in a modern-day avatar of Mahabharat’s ‘Karna’ In a recent conversation with an e-portal, a close source to Rakeysh revealed, “It won’t be a period-drama but will have a contemporary twist to it. Shahid is yet to sign on the dotted line, but the conversation on the subject is on. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is also in talks with certain studios to collaborate on the project with him,” Though the official statement is yet to come, but Mehra’s writer of films like Aks, Rang De Basanti, Delhi 6, Kamlesh Pandey spill some beans, ” Karna had always been an exciting subject for us, and I had even shared an idea with Rakeysh on it a while ago. However, there are so many other characters from the epic that are also very interesting. So, I am not sure which one will be taken forward. This is one of the subjects that we have been toying with, but there are others too,” says Rakeysh’s frequent collaborator, writer.
Shahid is currently working on another remake. Bollywood superstar is doing a remake of 2019 Telugu film, ‘Jersey’. The shoot of the film has been stalled amidst nation wise lockdown and will resume as soon as the lockdown gets over. Initially, it was scheduled to release on 28th August 2020 but now is pushed till further announcement.
