Shah Rukh Khan seems to have shown interest in yet another bold cinematic venture. As per recent reports by Mid Day, King Khan is reportedly in discussions with acclaimed filmmaker Sukumar, who is known for directing Pushpa franchise, for a rural political action drama that promises to present SRK in an never seen before avatar.
If the project sees the light of day, the reports have suggested that the superstar will be taking on a role of an anti-hero, blending his mass appeal with raw and rustic character. The narrative is expected to tackle pressing social issues like caste and class oppression, adding depth and relevance to the otherwise commercial genre.
“King Khan will play an anti-hero, but this will be a rural political action drama that promises to show him in a raw, rustic, and desi avatar,” said a source as per Mid Day.
This collaboration shall mark yet another ambitious chapter in SRK’s filmography. Over the years, the audience have witnessed his shift gears seamlessly – going from the intense anti-heroes in Darr and Baazigar to the suave action hero of Pathaan.
Meanwhile, on the work front, SRK is currently working on King, which shall also feature his daughter, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan.
