Bollywood’s King Shah Rukh Khan, who was last seen in Zero, has been producing diverse films over the years. However, since he has made no films for almost two years, his fans are eager to see him on screen again. For quite a while, there have been rumours that he is coming up with a new film soon. Now it has been learnt that he is all set to sign Alia Bhatt for his upcoming production.
A source told Mid-Day, “Among the many projects on Red Chillies Entertainment’s roster is a woman-led comic-drama. The first round of narration has happened with Alia, who has expressed her interest in the subject. She will hear the final script in the coming months, post which she will sign on the dotted line.” The couple was last seen together in director Gauri Shinde’s ‘Dear Zindagi’ where he played the role of her therapist (or in her character Kaira’s words ” her DD- “dimaag ka doctor”). The film is expected to go on floors early next year.
King Khan has been all praise for Alia. In the first episode of Season 5 of Koffee with Karan, he said, “And when I started working with her (Alia), I genuinely feel she is one of the finest actors of our generation. This isn’t about this generation actually, but she is just a fine actor. She is really really fine. And one of the more learning experiences for me. As a matter of fact.., because he (Alia’s father, Mahesh Bhatt) is old and he will understand and he’d be very proud, this learning experience with Alia was more than what I did with you, Bhatt Sahab.” In the same episode, Alia confessed having a crush on Shah Rukh and said that it felt surreal to work with him.
Alia is currently working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ based on S Hussain Zaidi’s book. She is playing the role of the lady don, Gangubai from Kamathipura. The film’s shoot has been delayed due to the current pandemic.
