For Sara Ali Khan being part of a good film is a priority than having lesser screen time, who says that she is not in the film industry to compete with her co-stars. Making her debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s, Kedarnath followed by Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba. After the last release of romance drama, Love Aaj Kal, Sara Ali Khan returns to the comedy genre with Coolie No. 1 alongside Varun Dhawan.
The trailer was released in a unique hybrid way in Chandigarh, organized, keeping social distancing, and taking safety measures. The cast was tested before the event. During the event, the pair performed an unreleased song from the film ‘Bhabhi.’ The cast recalls anecdotes from the set and while shooting.
Sara shares an incident where she was scolded by the director David Dhawan on the sets of the film. She adds, “We were filming ‘Main Toh Raste Se,’ when David sir got upset with me and shouted at me because, although I was ready for my shot, I was supposed to tag something on my costume and that was taking the time.”
The actress revealed how it was Varun to be blamed. He was doing some costume business in the van, and David sir got pretty upset at him as it was delaying the shoot. So basically, he was angry at Varun but vented on me. That was a bit of an issue, but it is all good.”
Coolie No. 1, being released on Amazon Prime Video, the actor feels it is the “safest way” to watch a movie amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. “When I see songs of the film, I feel this is a theatrical film, which means that you want everyone to watch the film together and have this collective viewing experience.”
“The safest way to do that today is to watch films at home. I don’t want grandmothers or young children to miss out on watching the film or have a fifty percent occupancy (at a theatre). There’s nothing better than sitting at home on Christmas with your family and enjoying the film,” she added.
The movie is directed by David Dhawan, produced by Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Jaavad Jaaferi. The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video on December 25th, 2020.
