This year has turned out to be a changing point for Shah Rukh Khan, who has ruled over the box office. The actor delivered massive hits back-to-back with Pathaan and Jawan. Now, he is all set to make his amazing performance in Dunki. The film marks his first collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani and is slated to release on the 21st of December.

Having such a great trajectory throughout the year, it’s hard to compete with such good numbers. However, Salaar: Part One- Ceasefire director Vijay Kindgandur has taken upon the task of setting a steaming competition. Prabhas starrer Salaar is scheduled to hit the theatres on the 22nd of December.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the producer revealed that they have been having meetings with exhibitors and distributors to devise a strategy for the release of the film. As Aquaman is also in the picture, they are planning to achieve a balanced screen sharing with 50 50 split with Dunki.

The producer also stated even if Dunki gets more scenes, the viewer’s occupancy will go down to 60-70%. Their ultimate plan is to get more occupancies even if they have fewer screens. However, this wouldn’t have been the case if Salaar have had a solo release.

Salaar’s producer claimed that there astronomical reasons why they have chosen the date as 22nd December. This is the way they have worked in the past and will also function in the future. Though Dunki and Aquaman shifted their release date to 21st December, Salaar stood firm on 22nd of December.
