In the last few months there have been speculations about TV star Parth Samthaan’s big Bollywood debut. This happened after the actor revealed it in an interview that he had been signed for a Hindi film. There were reports claiming that Parth will be acting opposite Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. But That’s only the half story.
Parth Samthaan is definitely doing a film opposite Alia Bhatt, but it is not Gangubai Kathiawadi. He has signed Resul Pookutty’s “Piharwa” which also stars Alia Bhatt. The film is based on the life story of martyr Harbhajan Singh and has the India-China war as backdrop. The movie will have a romantic angle around Parth and Alia’s characters and will be set in two eras.
The shooting of the film was supposed to begin around December, but due to the COVID-19 outbreak it has been postponed. It is said that Alia will first finish work of Gangubai Kathiawadi, Bramhastra and RRR. She also has to shoot Karan Johar’s next directorial opposite Ranveer Singh. Piharwa needs huge crew because it has war scenes. Resul is currently finalising dates for the shoot with Alia and her team. But it is said that Piharwa will definitely go on floors next year. At the same time, Parth has to complete his web series and there are talks about him signing another digital show which might be completed before his Bollywood debut hits the theatres.
