After the massive success of the movie Ponniyin Selvan 1, Ponniyin Selvan 2 is all ready to hit the theatre. The much awaited Ponniyin Selvan Selvan 2 music is composed by none other than AR Rahman just like Ponniyin Selvan 1. At the audio launch of Ponniyin Selvan 2, AR Rahman said, “INreally want to say thanks to Mni sir for giving me work for quite a long time. I see him as a brother, friend, and teacher at every stage. He keeps getting questions about when he will return. Every three years, they ask me the same question. However, he only offers me support throughout. He has elevated Tamile filmmaking to new heights.”
Earlier, the film’s official social media handle provided the audience with some information related to the significant song launch. “At the #PS2music launch, you can expect a night filled with music, nostalgia and history. After a grand song launch finally the audience got the glimpse of the new song Veera Raja Veera form PS2, which is composed by AR Rahman and the lyrics are written by Gulzar. The song release has increased the excitement among fans .

The movie is based on a 1995 novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy, the sequel to Ponniyin Selvan will begin at the end of the first film, when Oomani Rani, played by Aishwarya Rai, jumps into the sea to save Ponniyin Selvan. The movie will release on April 28, this year 2023.
