The super hit Malayalam movie ‘Drishyam’ starring Mohanlal and Meena enticed a huge audience and the film did marvels at the box office. The sequel was a hit too. Later, it was remade in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi as well.
Drishyam was remade in Tamil titled Papanasam and had an assemble cast comprising Kamal Haasan, Gautami, Nivetha Thomas and Esther Anil in prominent roles.
In an interview with Jeethu Joseph regarding Papanasam 2 before the release of Drishyam 2, the director was referred to saying, “It all depends upon the success of Drishyam 2 and the decision should come from Kamal Haasan Sir. I hope he will think about the second part of Papanasam. I’m also waiting for that call.” It is to be noted that Drishyam 2 indeed acquired a lot of positive reviews.
Now, in a recent Q&A interaction on Instagram, a netizen had asked Meena, Malayalam Drishyam franchise heroine on whether she would be collaborating with Kamal in Papanasam 2. For the same, her answer was – “Please ask @ikamalhaasan sir.”
Meena is in Drishyam 2’s Telugu remake as well where she’s paired with Venkatesh.The actress has completed four decades of being in the industry with 30 of them being as a leading lady.
