
Scarlett Johansson starrer ‘Black Widow’ another action movie by Marvel has been pushed to release in the next year along with Gal Gadot and Ali Fazal’s ‘Death to the Nile’ which is postponed to December 2020. Black Widow was scheduled to be released in November this year however now remains to go on-screens only in May 2021. Only a few theatres in US are opened for public by chains like AMC Entertainment and Cineworld Plc’s Regal Cinemas however excluding Los Angeles and New York who has a lot of movie-goers as per a report by Hindustan Times.
The global Coronavirus pandemic has affected the cinema industry widely with most of the theatres and big-screens being shut for almost six months now. Not the less, Marvel’s ‘Eternals’ has also been shifted to release in February 2021 and Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story to December 2020. Many films sought to release on various OTT platforms unlike a few who are still waiting for the big-screen release. Disney and a few others have been shuffling between the film releases to comprehend the pandemic situation in order to pull audiences in the theatres.
Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet‘ was released on big-screens amid the pandemic in the month of August, the film got better than average response from the audience. Movies like a film from James Bond series- No Time to Die and Wonder Woman 1984 have also been much awaited whereas are expected to get released around the year end.
