Actor Parthiban allegedly spoke with director Mani Ratnam and asked him to re-release the first half of the movie so that viewers could refresh their memories. Parthiban posted a message in Tamil to Twitter, saying, “I asked Mani Ratnam sir to re-release “PS 1” along with “PS 2” in theatres. He was told that moviegoers would find it simple to observe. Here is his response.

The actor posted a picture of the WhatsApp discussion in which Mani Ratnam agreed to the idea and stated that he intended to rerelease Part 1 of “Ponniyin Selvan” in a select number of theatres on April 21.

Parthiban previously admitted he hadn’t seen “Ponniyin Selvan 1” during the premiere of the “Ponniyin Selvan 2” teaser. He claimed that on the previous occasion, he missed the chance to see the movie in Thanjavur alone. It is possible that Parthiban’s wish to watch the movie in theatres in Thanjavur will come true now that both films are opening in theatres after a one-week gap.

In addition to the main actors, Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Aishwarya Rai, other actors who appear in the movie as supporting characters include Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhitha Dhulipala, Ashwin, and Rahman. AR Rahman is responsible for the soundtrack to the film.
