Director-Producer Karan Johar has announced his new film which is based on the life of the Former President of the Indian National Congress and a member of Viceroy’s Executive Council, C. Sankaran Nair. The movie is titled ‘The Untold Story of C. Sankaran Nair’ and has been inspired by the book, ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’ written by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.

Karan Johar shared a note on his social media handle that read, ‘Dharma Productions & Still and Still Media Collective Present ‘The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair’. He captioned the post as “Extremely excited and honoured to be bringing the untold story of C. Sankaran Nair, a historic man to the big screens. Directed by @karanstyagi. More details to follow soon, stay tuned!”

This film unravels the legendary courtroom battle that Sankaran Nair fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Sankaran Nair’s bravery ignited the freedom struggle across the country and is a testament to the power of fighting for the truth.

The movie will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and will go on floors shortly. The lead cast of the film will be announced soon.

Karan Johar will be directing the multi-starer movie, Takht, which casts Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. He will also be producing several other movies like Liger, Shershaah, Brahmastra, Gutka, and Sooryavanshi.
