Kangana Ranaut, the actress, has a lot of things in store for us in 2023. After giving us a glimpse of herself as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the upcoming film Emergency, the actress is gearing up to shock fans with her’spooky’ performance in the next release ‘Chandramukhi 2’.
Ranaut took to Instagram to release a poster heralding Chandramukhi’s homecoming. “This September she is coming back…” read the post. “Are you prepared?” The poster depicts lead actor Raghava Lawrence peering through the keyhole of the chamber haunted by the spirit of Chandramukhi. Ranaut will play the title character.
The filming for ‘Chandramukhi 2’ began in July 2022 and was completed earlier in June. The film is set to be released this Ganesh Chaturthi, which falls on September 14 or 15, according to the Hindu calendar.
Chandramukhi 2 is directed by renowned filmmaker P Vasu, who also directed the prequel Chandramukhi, which starred Rajinikanth, Prabhu, and Jyothika. It also stars Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu, Lakshmi Menon, Mahima Nambiar, Radhika Sarathkumar, and Ravi Maria.
Few people are aware that the director previously tried the film’s sequel, Nagavalli, with Venkatesh and Anushka Shetty. However, that proved to be a tremendous flop. It will be fascinating to see what magic is made with ‘Chandramukhi 2’.
Oscar winner MM Keeravani has been tapped to compose the film’s score, while Thotta Tharani is in charge of art direction and RD Rajasekhar is in charge of photography.
‘Chandramukhi 2’, a Pan-Indian release produced by Lyca Productions and Subaskaran, will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
