Extraction 2 may have just come out on Netflix, but Chris Hemsworth has announced that the next installment is already in the works.
Hemsworth and director Sam Hargrave were at the streaming service’s TUDUM: A Global Fan Event for the action flick when they announced to a live audience that the franchise would get a third installment.
Tyler Rake (Hemsworth) is a black operations mercenary who goes on very perilous missions in the Extraction flicks. The hero is betrayed in the first film while attempting to rescue a crime lord’s kidnapped son, while in the sequel, the agent makes a’surprise’ return after being assumed dead in order to save a Georgian gangster’s family.
Extraction 2 boasts numerous epic action scenes, one of which is nearly 20 minutes long and is said to have been shot in “one shot.” According to Digital Spy, “the action is what makes Extraction 2 worth your time.”
Meanwhile, Hemsworth, who rose to popularity as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, learned last year that he is at a higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease, prompting many to speculate that he might “take some time off” from acting.
Following his health revelation while working for the television series Limitless, the actor recently confirmed rumours concerning his future career, revealing that two unrelated storylines had been jumbled.
