It’s been nearly ten years since the release of the Disney Pixar film “Inside Out,” and fans have been waiting for a sequel with bated breath. It was recently confirmed during the D23 conference that “Inside Out 2” will be released in 2024.

The first film dealt with the feelings of a young girl named Riley as she battled to cope with her family’s departure from the home she grew up in. The film received positive reviews, and now Pixar’s CCO, Peter Docter, has hinted at what to expect from the sequel. Inside Out 2 will be Pixar’s twenty-ninth feature. The film will feature a teen Riley who has a “new set of personified emotions”

Docter discussed the possibilities of “Inside Out 2” in an interview, stating that a couple of additional emotions might be incorporated. With more than a year until the film’s premiere, there is a lot of speculation about these characters and their roles in the movie.

One of the scenes in the first film’s end credits had a youngster experiencing his first crush on Riley and a crazy reaction by his emotions in the control room. As Riley enters her adolescence, this circumstance is ideal for a sequel. Riley would be in high school in a sequel, attempting to keep up with her emotions. A new feeling associated with love would most likely play an important role in the film, teaching viewers about emotional balance and demonstrating how love is not always everything.

Amy Poehler, who played Riley’s adolescent emotion Joy in the first film, will return for the sequel and will focus on Riley’s emotions during her adolescence. Pixar has stated that “Inside Out 2” will be directed by Kelsey Mann, produced by Mark Nielsen, and written by Meg LeFauve.

Along with Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith and Lewis Black will play Riley’s emotions Sadness and Anger in the sequel. Diane Lane will play Mom in the animated film.

“Inside Out 2” will be released in theatres on June 14, 2024! Stay tuned to Devdiscourse for the most recent updates on animated films.
