Did Sanjay Gupta drop Mouni Roy from his next sports film ‘Miranda Boys’?- READ

Harshvardhan Rane and Meezan Jaaferi will continue to star in ‘Miranda Boys’ while filmmaker Sanjay Gupta is looking for another actress to play alongside Rane in place of Mouni Roy.

It was rumoured a few months ago that Mouni Roy, Harshvardhan Rane, and Meezan Jaaferi will act in a football film directed by Sanjay Gupta. Sanjay Gupta is known for films such as Shootout at Wadala, Kaabil, and Jazbaa, to name a few.

The newest news about the project is that, while Meezan and Harshvardhan will continue to star in the sports film ‘Miranda Boys,’ the director isn’t satisfied with the choice of starring actress Mouni Roy.

According to a source close to Gupta, the filmmaker is undecided about casting Mouni Roy alongside Harshvardhan Rane in the project.

Though the director contacted Mouni and signed her for the project at first, the producers are now looking for another actress to play alongside Rane. Gupta’s team has failed to get Mouni on board, and she hasn’t even been notified that they are looking for a successor.

The motive behind the director’s change of heart is unclear. Sanjay Gupta and Mouni Roy were both unavailable to comment when the media reached out to them through their respective organizations. When it comes to the film ‘Miranda Boys,’ it is based on a football tale.

It will be intriguing to witness Harshvardhan and Meezan in a sporting role, which has yet to be covered. While Meezan Jaaferi is a member of the All-Stars Football Club, Harshvardhan Rane has only lately taken up the sport. Every day, he practices with his coach.

For both Sanjay Gupta as a filmmaker and both performers, the genre is radically different. The film will begin shooting in Goa in mid-March.
