The movie franchise Dhoom introduced a new way of storytelling in action space. The first part featured John Abraham, and he very successfully managed to show his grey character look cool. The first part was released in 2004, with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. Two years later, in 2006, the stakes went higher when Hrithik Roshan played the antagonist in Dhoom 2. Aditya Chopra collaborated with Aamir Khan for Dhoom 3 in 2013 and ever since then there has been a constant chatter about the probable casting for Dhoom 4.

Now, as per a report by Pinkvilla, Dhoom 4 has finally started on its pre-production stage under Yash Raj Films banner and supervision of Aditya Chopra. Citing a source, the report has claimed that Ranbir Kapoor has been casted as the main lead in the upcoming movie.

“The discussions with Ranbir have been going on for the longest time. He had always shown interest to be a part of Dhoom 4 on hearing the basic idea, and is now finally confirmed to lead the franchise. Adi Chopra feels that RK is the ideal choice to carry forward the Dhoom legacy,” stated the source.

Moreover, the source has also claimed that no original actors will return as it’s a reboot in literal sense. It added that two actors from new generation will come aboard to play the duo of cop buddies in Dhoom 4. The makers are expected to start with casting soon, since the core story-board is locked.
