Days after its premiere, the Bheed trailer by Anubhav Sinha was made private on YouTube. On the social networking site Twitter, internet users questioned the rationale of the situation. The trailer is no longer available on T-Series’ YouTube channel.
Twitter users claimed that the video had been removed while tweeting the link to the trailer supplied by the movie’s production company, Benaras Media.
Producing Bheed together are Sinha and Bhushan Kumar. Rajkummar Rao, Kritika Kamra, Ashutosh Rana, Dia Mirza, Bhumi Pednekar, and Pankaj Kapur play the key parts in the movie, the movie is scheduled for release on March 24.
The story of the movie revolves around the first Lockdown following the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020 , the movie also focuses on how it affected migrant labour. As the migrant workers attempted to return home, the trailer showed how they were treated. It appears that Rajkummar’s character tries to assist them.
The trailer was praised by many for its realistic and gritty depiction of the Lockdown while others called it ‘agenda-driven.’ In short, the trailer of the film received a mixed reaction from the audience.
Disappointed by this action with the trailer, one user said, “#BheedTrailer is no longer available on YouTube. Has it been pulled down? In a democracy, why are we so hell bent on silencing the freedom of expression of our artistes? It’s fair to disagree; not cool to stifle them.” While another wrote, “Was Bheed trailer made private due to political pressure?”
Netizens are continuing to express their disappointment over this issue.
