Ananya Panday to join Vicky Kaushal to headline Gully Boy sequel?

Zoya Akhtar’s groundbreaking film Gully Boy, which is nearing its sixth anniversary, had received a widespread critical acclamation for its authentic portrayal of India’s hip-hop culture and impressive performance from its star cast, which included Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Raaz, and Vijay Varma. Notably, the movie was India’s official entry for the 92nd Academy Awards in Best International Feature Film category, however, it failed to secure a nomination.

Following its massive success, a sequel is in works, which is reportedly being directed by Arjun Varain Singh, who is known for directing Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. While there has been no official announcement over the cast and crew, but the rumors have suggested that the sequel will be headlined by Vicky Kaushal and Ananya Panday.

As per a report by Filmfare, citing a source close to development, it suggested, “Arjun Varain Singh, who directed Kho Gaye Hum Kahan for Excel and Tiger Baby, is slated to direct the Gully Boy sequel. He’s confident that Ananya, who was his heroine in Kho Gaye, will be the perfect girl to lead the project. Vicky has been attached with the sequel for a long time now.”
