Ameesha Patel has reignited the talks about her character Sakina from the movie Gadar 2, and shared the mixed feeling over her character’s transformation. While talking about director Anil Sharma’s recent remarks, the actress shared her preference of portraying her character in its youth, similar to the movie’s first installment, rather than the matured portrayal in sequel.

In a series of posts on X, Ameesha wrote, “Dear ⁦@Anilsharma_dir⁩ I feel u have mistaken the story and climax shot by u only in gadar 2 sakina is only a mother to jeetey as she was 23 years ago in gadar 1 and a wife to her lovely tara.. sakina is surely not a mother in law to anyone and will never be.”

In another post, she wrote, “super proud to be jeeteys mom but it shall end at that only… never a mother in law in this life time even I get paid 100 crores.” Ameesha also claimed that fans did not wish to see Tara, Sunny Deol’s character, and Sakina as ‘father-in-law’ and ‘mother-in-law’.

Earlier, during the promotions of Gadar 2, the actress admitted of being hesitant in embracing Sakina’s new role. The reports suggested that she had to be convinced by the director accept the character’s evolution.
