Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal got into production with the film, Girls Will Be Girls, under their banner Pushing Buttons Studios. The film has been helmed by Shuchi Talati and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
During a recent interaction with The Indian Express, Ali spoke about their first production venture and said that they belong to a country that is famous for its jugaad and for its ability to figure out a way to get things done. “Honestly, we asked for money from here and there and even broke our FDs to fund Girls Will Be Girls,” stated the actor.
Now the movie has been released and many sections of the audience is watching it. So, Ali explained that the creators did not have to worry about the funds, especially in the ideating state as it is possible. His actor wife backed his statement and said that collaborations can help focused people create content and deliver it to the screens.
Earlier, Priyanka Chopra had urged her fans to watch the movie on her Instagram story. She was joined by Hrithik Roshan, who claimed to have watched the movie at MAMI festival.
The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and won multiple accolades at the coveted event.
