Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to announce his next big film ‘Ram Setu’ alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrat Bharucha. However, the shooting took a backseat amidst the ravaging second wave of the pandemic.

Reportedly, the actor will resume shooting for the movie in September, 2021. The filmmakers are eagerly waiting for the monsoons to end as a few scenes need to be shot in open locations.

There were reports of the cast and crew flying to Sri Lanka for one of their last schedules. But Sri-Lanka is currently holding tourists by the rule of a 15-day mandatory quarantine, which may prevent the filmmakers from using the island to its optimum need.

A source said, “It is definitely a challenge for any actor to stay locked up without work in isolation. Akshay is raring to go, so there is every chance the shooting may take place soon and to avoid quarantine related delays, the film might be shot in cheat locations that could make up for Sri Lanka.”

The last schedule of the film was to be conducted in Mumbai itself, but had to be cancelled as Akshay tested positive for Covid-19. The set had to be dismantled after the second lockdown was announced in April.

The film ‘Ram Setu’ is being directed by Abhishek Sharma, who previously made ‘The Zoya Factor’ and ‘Parmanu’
