The trailer of BBC One’s A Suitable Boy, directed by Mira Nair has released today. The film is 6-part series based on Vikram Seth’s novel with the same name. Stars like Ishaan Khatter, Tabu, Ram Kapoor, Tanya Maniktala and Rasika Dugal, among others will be seen.
This film marks the reunion of Tabu and director Mira Nair after 14 years. They worked together in 2006 for the movie, The Namesake starring Irrfan Khan as well. Ishaan took to his Instagram to drop a sneak peek of the film. Here is the Instagram post :

The film is set in the North India in the era of 1951. It focuses on four families in the fictional town of Brahmapur, located between Varanasi and Patna. Ishaan will be seen playing the role of Maan Kapoor, who is supposedly a suitable boy for the daughter of a renowned family. Debutante Tanya Maniktala will be playing the role of the daughter. Beside this, Tabu and Rasika Dugal will be seen in important roles.
The one minute trailer also features the romance between Tabu and Ishaan Khatter. Talking about the ‘daunting experience’, Ishaan said in an interview to Bollywood Hungama, “Oh, yeah! I think what I realised is I seek out challenging experiences and I seek out experiences that would give me an opportunity to grow. I couldn’t think of a better experience than having a one-to-one equation and a working relationship with one of my favourite actresses of our cinema. So I think my tendency is to get much more excited than nervous and I couldn’t wait.”
The shooting of the movie extensively took place in Lucknow. Apart from this, Ishaan Khatter will be seen alongside Ananya Pandey in the upcoming movie, Kaali Peeli.
