Mannara Chopra’s journey on Bigg Boss was nothing short of a roller-coaster ride, capturing hearts and securing a spot in the finals. However, amidst her time in the house, one notable absence was any mention of her renowned cousins, Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra. Recently, Mannara addressed this decision, dispelling speculations that there is tension between them.
In a candid conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Mannara expressed her reasoning behind not mentioning her sisters during her stint on Bigg Boss. She clarified that her decision stemmed from a desire to establish her own identity and fight her battles on her own terms.
Contrary to rumors suggesting a strained relationship, Mannara affirmed that her relations with her sisters are indeed sorted, emphasizing her upbringing as a loving child under her mother’s guidance.
“If I would take my family’s name, they would have called me a nepo kid. They would have said that I don’t have a personality. Now that I didn’t take their names, they created another story that I my relationship with my sisters is not good. My relations are very sorted. I am a very loving child and I have learned this from my mother,” she said, adding, “I didn’t take their names because I really wanted people to see me and who I am, and I wanted to fight my own battle. When I walk into meetings and look tests, that is just me standing alone in those parameters. And after Bigg Boss, if people in the industry are talking to me, they are interacting with me because of the comfort which I am giving from my end also. Of course, they know I come from a certain family but it is also because of how I project myself. It is all about you at the end of the day. I avoided the names because I knew it was a personality show and I had to show my personality.”
Mannara elucidated that her decision to refrain from mentioning her sisters was a strategic move to showcase her personality independently. By distancing herself from the nepotism narrative, she aimed to project her unique abilities and merit. Through her performances and interactions, she sought to carve her own path in the industry, garnering recognition based on her individual talents and efforts.
Growing up, Mannara admired Priyanka Chopra’s journey and the way she asserted her independence and strength. Priyanka’s success served as a source of inspiration for Mannara, instilling in her the belief that one can achieve greatness on their own terms. She highlighted Priyanka’s influence on her upbringing, shaping her values and aspirations towards independence and self-reliance.
“She had a strong impact on all the cousins. She has always projected herself as a strong and independent woman. I looked up to her while growing up because I noticed how she could buy things on her own. She could stay in the best of the places, do whatever she wants, and rule the world according to her terms. That was something I imbibed from her. That was something that got inside me,” she shared.
Despite her admiration for Priyanka’s achievements, Mannara revealed that Priyanka imparted crucial advice when she expressed her interest in pursuing acting at a young age. Priyanka emphasized the importance of education as the foundation for success, urging Mannara to complete her studies before venturing into the creative arts. This guidance resonated with Mannara, reinforcing the significance of academic qualifications in her journey.
