V, a member of BTS, released Layover with Slow Dancing, his long-awaited solo debut album, on Friday. HYBE released the song’s music video on its YouTube account.
Moreover, ‘Layover’ by BTS’ V had the most first-day sales by a solo artist in Hanteo history (1.34M).
V, alias Kim Taehyung, is shown travelling by car with his companions in the song’s more than three minutes of length. They take photographs, dance on the beach, swim in the ocean, and enjoy the night sky from a boat. The music video shows V working on a project as well. In the last scene of the video, V is shown relaxing on a building’s terrace with a replica of his pet Yeontan.
Reacting to the music video, a BTS ARMY commented, “So relaxing. I love it!! Tae Tae! Cute voice and everything in the video it’s amazing. Congratulations I love you Tae!” Another person wrote, “It’s a work of art Taetae, so relaxing, thank you for always giving my best, I hope you enjoy recording this I love you so much. And you will always have my support.”

V’s album release was announced on the fan site Weverse in August by BTS management company BigHit Music.The statement read, “We are excited to share more details about the release of BTS member V’s solo album Layover. Layover’ consists of six tracks in total – five tracks and a bonus track, namely: Rainy Days, Blue, Love Me Again, Slow Dancing, For Us and Slow Dancing (Piano Ver).”
