The second wave of the pandemic has hit India hard with the numbers of COVID-19 patients increasing each day. This is the biggest health crisis the nation has ever faced. The rise in COVID cases has made the situation worse with hospitals facing a shortage of oxygen cylinders, beds in intensive care and ventilators etc.
People have been helping out however they can with plasma donations and more. Now, a group of fans who are huge supporters of the South Korean music band, BTS, have collected money to help with the situation.
The BTS ARMY, as they call themselves, organized a fundraiser to raise money for this cause. The chain was started by an Indian fan club, BANGTAN INDIA. They posted information about the same at 9:30 pm on April 23rd.
In less than 12 hours, they had amassed over 10 lakh rupees. The money was collected from all over the world.
The money will be used to provide free oxygen cylinders and other medical supplies that are necessary. It will also be used to help the kitchens that are making meals for COVID-19 patients.
