Kajol has shared a raw account of her parenting struggles with teenage daughter Nysa Devgn, revealing a rocky three-year period marked by constant fights. In a candid chat with YouTuber Lilly Singh, the Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge icon admitted their bond wasn’t always smooth, especially when Nysa’s hormones kicked in around age 12.

The trouble started when Nysa hit puberty, turning their home into a battleground. “Hormones hit and she was just 12, and we were all over the place. We were fighting, and we were both irrational at times,” Kajol recalled. Both mother and daughter dug in their heels, refusing to listen or talk, stretching the tension across nearly three years of “illogical” standoffs.

Kajol, married to Ajay Devgn and mom to Nysa (now around 18) and son Yug, took the mature route. She stepped back from battles, vowing less fighting and more dialogue. “I decided that no, I am not going to fight with her that much. I am going to try to talk to her as much as I can and work with her,” she explained.

From Fights to Deep Conversations

The shift worked wonders. Short clashes evolved into long, meaningful talks where Kajol prioritized listening over lecturing. “It became more about me sitting down and listening to her,” she shared, crediting patience for rebuilding their connection. Kajol also reflected on Gen Z challenges—overloaded with social media info, unlike adaptable 90s kids like herself who knew life pre-digital overload.

This comes amid Kajol’s busy slate, including Do Patti and family trips. She’s long been open about modern parenting, from teaching Nysa to ignore trolls (“Don’t know how much of it is real”) to embracing arguments as healthy. Her story resonates with parents navigating teen turbulence in a hyper-connected world.

Kajol’s honesty spotlights the universal grind of raising Gen Z—proof that even stars fight, listen, and grow together.
