Justin Bieber, the famous singer, is supposed to perform at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding on Friday. Pictures and videos of him arriving in Mumbai started popping up on social media yesterday. Anant and Radhika are getting married on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
In a video posted by a paparazzo, Justin’s car was spotted in Mumbai. India Today had earlier reported that other big-name musicians like Adele, Drake, and Lana Del Rey are in talks with the Ambani family to possibly perform at the wedding in Mumbai.
According to a report on the Portuguese website LeoDias, the Ambani’s are paying Justin a whopping ten million US dollars for his performance.
Recently, the Ambani’s had a fancy ceremony called a mameru. It was attended by Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani with her mom, Purnima Dalal, Akash Ambani with his wife, Shloka, Anant and Radhika, and Isha Ambani with her husband, Anand Piramal. In this Gujarati wedding tradition, the bride’s maternal uncle (mama) visits her with sweets and gifts.
Videos show that the Ambani house is decked out in fancy decorations. There are red, pink, and orange flowers everywhere, plus gold lights that make everything look even more amazing. There’s also a digital display with cartoons of Anant and Radhika that says “All the Best.”
One of the coolest things about the Ambanis’ wedding plans is that they’re having a chaat stall from the famous Kashi Chaat Bhandaar in Varanasi. Nita Ambani went to Varanasi last month to get blessings at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. While there, she tried some chaat and personally invited the owner of the restaurant, Rakesh Keshari, to cater the wedding. Also, Anant, Radhika, Mukesh, and Nita organized a mass wedding for underprivileged people at Swami Vivekanand Vidyamandir in Palghar on July 2.
The wedding invitation recently surfaced online, giving us a sneak peek into the extravagant preparations for the event. The main ceremonies will start with the Shubh Vivah (wedding ceremony), and sources say that guests are encouraged to wear traditional Indian clothes to get into the spirit of the occasion. The celebrations will continue on Saturday, July 13, with Shubh Aashirwad. The last event, Mangal Utsav or the wedding reception, is scheduled for Sunday, July 14.
