Apple TV users faced widespread disruptions on Friday, Nov 7, as reports of an outage surged globally. According to Downdetector, more than 15,000 users reported issues accessing Apple TV services, with problems ranging from login failures and buffering to complete inaccessibility of the app on smart TVs and streaming devices.
Several users took to X (formerly Twitter) to complain about being logged out automatically or unable to stream content, with many reports coming in from India, the United States, and parts of Europe. The outage reportedly began around 8:30 PM IST and peaked within an hour.
Apple’s official system status page initially showed “all services available,” but was later updated to acknowledge intermittent issues with Apple TV+ streaming. The company has not yet issued a detailed statement explaining the cause of the disruption.
While the exact reason remains unclear, preliminary reports suggest the outage could be linked to server maintenance or a temporary backend failure. Streaming has gradually resumed for many users, though some regions continue to face delays and connectivity errors.
As of now, Apple TV services appear to be partially restored, and users are advised to restart their apps or devices if problems persist.
