The latest “Demon Slayer” storyline, the Swordsmith Village Arc, is set to debut on Toonami next month. This season comes before the Hashira Training Arc. The anime, which started as a manga series by Koyoharu Gotouge, was first announced in February 2022 and began airing in April 2023. It’s currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll, which also offers the previous seasons of the show.
At San Diego Comic-Con, Aniplex USA revealed that the Swordsmith Village Arc will premiere on Toonami on August 10. This arc, which debuted in Japan in April 2023, includes a special theatrical screening called “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training-.” This screening featured the first episode of the TV anime and the final episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc, and it was shown in Japanese theaters starting February 2, followed by a global tour.
The Hashira Training Arc of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” first aired in April 2019 on Fuji TV and concluded with a special 60-minute eighth episode. Following this, a film trilogy adapting the “Infinity Castle” arc was announced. These films will be exclusively available in theaters worldwide through Crunchyroll. The series has been licensed by Aniplex of America and is available for streaming on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Funimation.
The franchise also includes “Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train,” which premiered in Japan in October 2020 and was streamed on Crunchyroll. This was followed by a seven-episode adaptation, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc,” which aired in October 2021. The Entertainment District Arc premiered in December 2021 with a one-hour special and was available for streaming on Funimation and Crunchyroll.
The Swordsmith Village Arc, which is the ninth storyline in the series, features Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira assisting Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui in defeating the sibling demons Gyutaro and Daki, members of the Upper Six of the Twelve Kizuki. The arc explores the complex relationships and battles among these characters, ultimately leading to the defeat of the demons with the help of Nezuko’s unique abilities.
As the story progresses, we see Tanjiro grappling with his past, meeting new characters, and discovering potential growth in his abilities. The series’ continuation promises more intense battles and character development, keeping fans eagerly awaiting the next episodes and arcs.
