Episode 5, “Ambition,” starts with a flashback showing Romberg finding young Ike. Back in the present, Basteo declares himself the new Demon Lord after supposedly killing Dairokuten. He offers Ike a role in his new army, but Ike refuses, leading to a battle. With the help of Cefiro, Lilith, and Jiron, Ike defeats Basteo.
Surprisingly, the Demon Lord reveals she survived. She offers Basteo a second chance through a duel with Ike, which Ike wins, leading to Basteo’s defeat. Impressed by Ike’s skills, the Demon Lord offers him a high-ranking position, but Ike declines, stating his goal of creating a world where humans and demons coexist. He intends to continue this mission under Cefiro’s leadership. The episode ends with Ike and Cefiro leaving the Demon Lord’s Castle, while Dairokuten watches from a window.
