Asahi Shimbun Publishing has announced that artist Seiko Takaki will be returning to illustrate the manga adaptation of The Rose Princess, the ninth volume in the Vampire Hunter D series. About Vampire Hunter D

The Vampire Hunter D series has seen 41 novels published to date, some of which include multiple volumes. With over 17 million copies sold worldwide, it’s one of the most successful book series ever. The franchise has expanded beyond novels to include anime adaptations, audio dramas, comics, video games, and various art and guidebooks.

The new manga series, Vampire Hunter D: The Rose Princess, began serialization on Asahi Shimbun’s Sonoroma+ website. The manga will be released bi-monthly, on the 15th and 30th of each month, with Dark Horse Comics handling the English translation.

The Rose Princess arc continues from the previous volume, The Rose Garden. It tells the story of Sakuri’s residents who have made a pact with the Rose Princess, a figure served by the Four Knights of the Diane Rose. When they fail to deliver a promised sacrifice, the Princess unleashes her wrath on the villagers, leading to a series of violent events. Hunter D, the protagonist, must navigate this chaos and uncover clues hidden among the carnage.

While detailed plot information is still under wraps, fans are eager to see how Seiko Takaki’s illustrations will bring this dark and thrilling arc to life. The adaptation is expected to stay true to the essence of Kikuchi’s original light novel series. Stay tuned for more updates on Vampire Hunter D and its new manga adaptation!
