An official announcement has been made during the the10th anniversary live stream event on Kadokawa’s YouTube channel about the 5th season of Date a live anime being in the production process. This news has astounded the audience will thrill and excitement. A promotional video is also released, depicting a new character that will be playing a major role in the upcoming show.
Jun Nakagawa will be directing the 5th season. He was also present at the event and expressed great pleasure over the working of the anime. Nakagawa even declared that 5th season will be the end of this series.
The anime is adapted from Koshi Tachibana’s Date a Live light book series. It was first aired in 2013 under the production of AIC Plus+ and the 2nd season was released in 2014 by Production IMS. The 3rd season was animated by J.C. Staff in 2019 and 4th season was telecasted in 2022 by GEEKTOYS.
The story of the anime revolves around a schoolboy, Shido. His life completely changes when he meets a mysterious girl at an undesired place. What he doesn’t know is that the girl is a spirit, who is responsible for the destruction of their city. Shido, with the help of his sister Kotori, embarks upon a journey to destroy every spirit and discovers various truths about the evil surrounding their home place.
