Despite Morbius and Madame Web doing their best, Sony’s Spider-Man Universe still has plenty of gas left in the tank, and the next pit stop? None other than Venom: The Last Dance, the third and final solo outing for everyone’s favorite perpetually peckish symbiote.
As the SSU’s main protagonist (if you can even call it that, considering the franchise’s track record), Venom has a reputation to maintain. With this final installment, it’s a race to the finish line before everyone’s gaze inevitably shifts to the MCU, where a certain piece of the Venom symbiote still lurks in the shadows, waiting for its moment in the spotlight.
With The Last Dance, the SSU will have clocked in a grand total of five films. But for a franchise with “Spider-Man” in its name, it’s curious how determined it is to keep ol’ Spidey out of the picture. It’s like they’re doubling down on the exclusion with each new feature.
Now, will Spider-Man make an appearance in ‘Venom: The Last Dance?’
Well, don your detective hats and place your bets, folks, because the answer remains shrouded in mystery until the film hits theaters. But if history is any indication, it’s highly unlikely. Spider-Man has been as elusive in this continuity as the symbiote itself, with his only cameo being a post-credits scene that barely counts.
Sure, Madame Web may have teased a baby Peter Parker, but let’s be real—the SSU’s commitment to continuity is as flimsy as a dollar store umbrella in a hurricane. So, theories aside, it’s best not to hold your breath for a Spidey sighting.
Get ready to sink your teeth into Venom: The Last Dance when it swings into theaters on Oct. 25, 2024. It may be the end of an era, but something tells me Venom’s appetite for chaos is far from satisfied.
