In an interview with Young Entertainment, Rochelle revealed she was a fan of the Geek Girl series long before she was cast in the show. “When I was about ten years old, I read these books religiously,” she shared. She expressed her admiration for the series, noting, “I just, I love the books so much. I loved how glamorous they were, and also how down-to-earth they were. I just loved them and I loved how clever she [Harriet] was.”

Rochelle also shared her affection for her character, Nat Grey, highlighting Nat’s resilience. “I love how in the face of adversity she is brave and she persevered. Basically, she’s a very resilient character. You can see how strong she is. But I also love that there’s a soft quality to her underneath all of her bravado and maybe her ego a little bit. There’s this like soft little girl-like bundle of joy, I think.”
Rochelle feels a personal connection to Nat, saying, “I think I relate to her in that sense in terms of we’re quite – I don’t know if strong is the word – but you know strong. And, then underneath it is just a big old teddy bear.”
