Lara Trump, who’s quickly becoming a prominent figure in the Republican party, is grabbing the spotlight at this week’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. As co-chair and host of the event, she’s fully embracing her new public role.
A few years ago, Lara was pretty much unknown outside of New York. But after meeting Eric Trump, her life took a big turn. Unlike Eric and his siblings, who grew up with all the perks and media attention of a wealthy, famous family, Lara’s background was much more modest.
Lara, whose maiden name is Yunaska, was born on October 12, 1982, in Wilmington, North Carolina. She came from a middle-class family and studied communication at North Carolina State University, which has helped her in her role promoting the Trump family’s messages.
Where is Lara Trump from originally?
Growing up in Wilmington, Lara was passionate about horseback riding and competed in horse shows. She also had a keen interest in fashion and beauty, working as a model for local stores during her teenage years. After college, she moved to New York City to chase a career in television production. She even worked as a pastry chef for a while before landing a job as a producer on the tabloid TV show Inside Edition. It was through this job that she met Eric Trump, who appeared on the show frequently. The couple married in 2014 at Mar-a-Lago, a venue known for its opulence.
Since marrying Eric, Lara has been hard at work advancing the Trump brand. She’s campaigned for her father-in-law, hosted a show called Real News Update, and now, she’s serving as the co-chair of the Republican National Committee. Quite the career trajectory!
