In Deadpool & Wolverine, a big chunk of the action takes place in the Time Variance Authority (TVA), but many familiar TVA characters from Loki are noticeably missing. So where are they?
The quick answer might be that the film’s budget didn’t stretch to include all these characters. Deadpool himself makes jokes about this in the movie. However, there are some more interesting reasons for their absence.
Let’s dive into where some of our favorite TVA characters might be:
Mobius Mobius, played by Owen Wilson, decided to live a regular life on one of Earth’s timelines by the end of Loki season 2. After the chaos of saving the Multiverse and dealing with Loki’s antics, it makes sense that he’d want to take a break from the TVA and enjoy a normal life, so he’s not around in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Sylvie Sylvie, another Loki variant, also made a major decision at the end of Loki season 2. She chose to seek freedom and new adventures away from the TVA. Her quest for a different life likely kept her out of the TVA during the events of Deadpool & Wolverine.
Ouroboros Ouroboros, the TVA’s brilliant scientist played by Ke Huy Quan, is missing from the film, which is a bit concerning given the events involving Paradox. With so much happening, you’d think the TVA would need all hands on deck. Maybe Ouroboros was busy with more urgent matters, like figuring out how to save Loki from the Temporal Loom or developing new TVA tools. He might be tied up with challenges as complex as rocket science, which could explain his absence.
Victor Timely Victor Timely, portrayed by Jonathan Majors, was a significant character in Loki’s second season but doesn’t appear in Deadpool & Wolverine. Timely’s absence might be due to Majors being removed from the MCU following serious allegations. With the direction of Avengers 5 shifting and Timely’s role in the MCU uncertain, this could explain why he’s not seen in the film.
Casey Casey, the TVA worker played by Eugene Cordero, had an amusing subplot in Loki. He’s not in Deadpool & Wolverine, which might mean he’s back to his desk job or possibly blending into the TVA office environment. It’s also possible that he’s been replaced by other TVA staff members.
Ravonna Renslayer Ravonna Renslayer, played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw, had a lot of potential to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine. She was last seen in Loki’s Void, potentially being consumed by Alioth or hiding out in the Void. If she’s still around, she might be trying to escape or find a way to survive without aligning with Cassandra Nova.
So, while some TVA characters are missing, it’s clear they have their own storylines and challenges, which could be keeping them busy or out of sight in the world of Deadpool & Wolverine.
