Uncoupled is not getting saved after all. Showtime has decided to not proceed with season 2 of the comedy series, from the creator of Emily in Paris Darren Star and Modern Family veteran Jeffrey Richman, as per the reports by Deadline.
The cancellation comes a little over a year after Showtime picked up the series, produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, from Netflix, after the latter had denied it’s renewal. Showtime’s creative team was to put the project into redevelopment to tailor it to the network’s sensibilities, and the decision not to do a second season came after months of work on that, as per sources.
The Neil Patrick Harris starrer had revealed in June that season 2 was scheduled to began filming in July last year, but got delayed due to the WGA strikes.
The series chronicles the life of a gay man in his 40s, who is navigating through his single life in New York City after he was dumped unceremoniously by his partner of 17 years. The core cast includes Tisha Campbell, Emerson Brooks, Brooks Ashmanskas, and Marcia Gay Harden.
