A source informed PEOPLE that Lavigne would keep the $80,000 handmade Mavani & Co. necklace Tyga gave her earlier this year.
An insider told PEOPLE at the time that she and artist Mod Sun were “genuinely friends and nothing more,” but PEOPLE later confirmed days later that their engagement had ended less than a year after he proposed in Paris.
A source reported at the time that “Avril and Mod Sun have been together on and off for the past two months, but are no longer together as a couple.”
Following that, Lavigne and Tyga headed to Paris, where they were frequently spotted during Paris Fashion Week. On March 6, the duo was photographed kissing outside the Mugler X Hunter Schafer party after attending Leonardo DiCaprio’s bash at Kuku restaurant. However, at the time, a source indicated that the connection was “very new” and “very casual.”
While in Paris, Lavigne showed off her new necklace, which has 50 carats of black and white diamonds as well as pink sapphires that represent the initials of her first name.
Lavigne, 38, and Tyga, 33, were spotted cuddling for the first time on February 19 after eating at Nobu.
In late March, sources told PEOPLE that the “Girlfriend” singer and her rapper beau were “very into each other.” The pair had previously surprised fans by performing together at the CMA Fest 2023.
They are just getting to know one another and are not yet exclusive. To be safe and get to know each other well before becoming serious, they are proceeding very slowly, the person stated. They do, however, interact regularly.
