Someone is lying… but who?! Season 2 of Netflix’s reboot of The Mole is finally here, and 12 strangers are teaming up to boost a collective prize pot that only one of them will take home in the end.
But wait, there’s a major twist—one of the contestants is “the Mole,” tasked with secretly sabotaging the group’s efforts and preventing them from adding any money to the pot.
With the first five episodes of Season 2 ready for your binge-watching pleasure, have you sussed out who “the Mole” might be? If not, don’t fret—we’ve got some theories!
Who is “the Mole” in Season 2 of Netflix’s ‘The Mole?’
Right now, the identity of “the Mole” is anyone’s guess. But that hasn’t stopped us from putting on our detective hats! By Episode 5, the general consensus among the remaining contestants seems to point fingers at Sean, Michael, and Muna as the prime suspects.
First up is Sean, the undercover-cop-turned-stay-at-home-dad, who’s been navigating the game with impressive finesse. He’s kept a low profile, but his difficulty with lying hasn’t escaped the notice of his fellow contestants. Sean insists he’s not the Mole, telling Tudum, “I’m here to compete for my family and win cash. I don’t have what it takes to sabotage or ruin people’s chances of winning money.” While we’re inclined to believe him, wouldn’t it be a wild twist if he were?
Then there’s Michael, who’s managed to stay under the radar until recently. His smooth sailing hit a bump during the fortune cookie game, where his sly tactics earned him an exemption from the next elimination quiz. Suddenly, everyone’s realizing they might have underestimated him. Michael told Tudum he’s not the Mole because “I talk way too much to be the Mole.” Not the strongest alibi, wouldn’t you agree? Michael’s definitely on our watch list now.
Lastly, we have Muna. The 24-year-old software engineer started off on the right foot with everyone, even being voted one of the most trustworthy players in the first episode. But when given the chance to help the group or herself, Muna opted for the test correction, causing the prize pot to miss out on an extra $5,000. Sounds a bit like sabotage, doesn’t it? By Episode 3, her competitive streak is clear as she attempts to secure an exemption by deceiving the group during the fortune cookie game.
Muna claims she’s a “detective at heart,” which could be a handy trait for the Mole, don’t you think? Horror movies often turn detectives into villains, like Detective Wayne Kirsch in Scream VI or Sheriff Eric Newlon in the 2023 slasher Thanksgiving. So, maybe Muna is the Mole after all!
Then again, now that we’re thinking about it, maybe we shouldn’t rule out Sean just yet…
Season 2 of The Mole is now streaming on Netflix.
