The Handmaid’s Tale: Final season secures release date for 2025

The fans of The Handmaid’s Tale have been waiting for quite some time now for the show’s sixth and final installment. There seems to be a new ray of hope for the eager fans, who had been catching onto every tiny detail.

Last week, star Elisabeth Moss spoke at Television Critics Association panel, where she revealed that the shooting for the series’ final season will go on floors in summer.


“We are preparing right now and we will start this summer,” shared Elisabeth, who plays June Osborn in the acclaimed Hulu series, which had released its last eight episodes in November 2022.

Reacting to the claims made by the actress, Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich, on Tuesday, stated to Deadline, “The Handmaid’s Tale is going to production this summer, [it] premiers in 2025.”

The sixth and final season was confirmed by the series star Bradley Whitford in February 2023.

The Handmaid’s Tale, premiered in 2017, is created by Bruce Miller and is based on a dystopian novel of the same by Margaret Atwood. It stars Yvonne Strahovski, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, O-T Fagbenle, Sam Jaeger, Bradley Whitford, and Amandra Brugel.
